The All Progressives Congress (APC) has countered the criticism levelled by Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), challenging him to provide evidence substantiating his claims that Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) actually won the 2023 Presidential Elections.

Babachir Lawal has also allegedly called to question the professional competence of President Tinubu’s ministerial appointees.
The APC, through its publicity secretary, Felix Morka, released a statement calling on Lawal to present concrete evidence supporting his assertions.

The publicity secretary, who deemed Lawal’s criticisms as baseless and unwarranted, emphasized that his actions were potentially detrimental to Peter Obi’s (the Labour Party’s presidential candidate) case before the Presidential Elections Petitions Court.
Highlighting Lawal’s previous political setbacks and his inability to secure victories in his home state across multiple election cycles, the APC questioned his authority to critique the competence of President Tinubu’s appointees.
In response to Lawal’s criticisms, the APC urged him to divert his attention to personal endeavours, specifically managing his farm, and refrain from causing unnecessary disruptions.
The party expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s appointees, affirming their belief that these individuals will fulfill their roles and the commitments outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.
