The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed sorrow over the sudden death of the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, who conveyed the APC’s heartfelt condolences to Governor Douye Diri, the government, and the people of Bayelsa State over the painful loss.
“Senator Ewhrudjakpo was a fine, versatile, devoted and compassionate leader with a towering record of distinguished public service.
“A grassroots politician and renowned peace-builder, he was widely recognised for his contributions to intra and inter community conflict management and reconciliation, fostering stabilisation of local communities and protecting vital national assets in the state,” the party eulogised.
According to the APC, his death leaves a huge void not only in Bayelsa State but within Nigeria’s wider public service community.
It said; “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and political associates, the government and good people of Bayelsa State during this difficult time.”
