APC tells Supporters to Shun Violence during Election in Nasarawa state

The All Progressives Congress APC, Nasarawa State, has charged party supporters to eschew violence and adhere strictly to the new electoral law as they prepare to exercise their franchise on Saturday’s general elections.
The APC Chairman in the state, Dr. John Mamman, appealed at a press briefing on the level of preparation ahead of the general election in Lafia.
According to him, the party is highly optimistic to win the forthcoming general election, noting that it had put in place the necessary preparation to achieve resounding victory.
“Today, we are getting set for the 2023 general election that will usher in the new president of the federal republic of Nigeria, distinguished Senators, and honorable members, of the House of representatives.
“The second election that will come up in March will usher in Governors and members of states Assembly, all preparation for this election have already been put in place,” he said.
Mamman said the party had already trained 3,256 polling agents to man polling units at various electoral wards in the state.
He said as part of the preparation to ensure hitch-free elections, the party has been meeting with stakeholders at various levels; political appointees, religious organisations, students, and other allies associations.
“The fundamental reason for meeting with all these groups is to ensure that we have a hitch-free election, devoid of violence and rancor.
“Election is not a do-or-die affair, so, we have been appealing to people, every sector we meet to canvass for a vote to ensure the decency with which we play our democratic responsibility and role,” he added.
APC Chairman, however, urged residents of Nasarawa state to come out en mass to exercise their franchise without fear of intimidation as security has been put in place to secure lives and property.
