Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress, APC has pledged to abide by the candidate list of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in the forthcoming elections.
The Secretary of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, James Faleke stated this in response to a question regarding elective positions where more than one APC candidate is contesting the party’s ticket for a particular position in court.
He was speaking to journalists at a meeting in Abuja of all APC candidates contesting the 2023 General Election.
Mr Faleke said the party Presidential Campaign Council used INEC’s list to send out invitations to candidates for the meeting in Abuja.
“We have some candidates who have been challenged by other aspirants, some with court judgement, some without court judgement. As far as INEC list is concerned, we deal with INEC list, we are not dealing with party list at this time” Faleke said.
Also speaking on the relationship between the APC Presidential Candidate, Mr. Bola Tinubu and the party’s governors, Mr. Faleke said they have a “fantastic” relationship.
