APGA Candidate gives succour to flood victims in Awka North

The Honourable Member representing Dunukofia Njikoka Anaocha Federal Constituency and APGA Candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Dozie Nwankwo, gave succour by providing relief materials to the flood victims of Awka North, particularly at Ugbenu, Ugbene, and Awba-Ofemili communities.

Nwankwo, who made the trip with his entourage, observed that as a public office holder, it is binding on him and any other well-to-do individual in the society to complement the government’s effort in assisting the victims.

Presenting the relief worth millions to community leaders of Ugbenu Ugbene and Awba-ofemili for onward distribution to the victims in their respective communities, Nwankwo stated that his visit was to commiserate with them in their most trying times personally.

“These relief materials are not in any way compensation for your huge losses, as only God can do that. We should, however, regard the unfortunate disaster as an inevitable act of God.”

The PGs of Ugbenu and Ugbene, Hon Samson Ojor and Hon Emmanuel Chike, respectively, commended PG’slawmaker for the gesture and promised reasonable distribution of the items to the victims.

In his votes of thanks, the traditional ruler of Awba-Ofemili, HRH, Igwe Ezekwesili Maduagwuna, Ofemili 1, expressed appreciation and gratitude on behalf of other traditional rulers to Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo for coming to their rescue and improving their plight.

The monarch assured him of fair and timely distribution of relief materials. He commended Nwankwo for establishing the federal college of Agriculture Ishiagu, Enugwu-Ukwu campus. He implored him to facilitate a campus in the Awka North when the bill for the establishment of the Federal College of Agriculture was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari. He finally prayed for the successful political outing of Hon. Dozie Nwankwo.

Items provided include: bags of beans, bags of rice, tubers of yam, cartons of noodles, bags of garri, gallons of palm oil, and cartons of canned tomatoes, amongst others.
