The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA , has been declared winner of the just concluded re run election of Magama Rijau Federal Constituency in Niger State, North central Nigeria.
The elections, according to the Independent electoral commission’s Returning Officer Professor Yahaya Tanko Baba ,of the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto was hitch free.
Professor Yahaya Tanko Baba,explained that candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA Shehu Sale who polled 22,905 votes emerged winner of the re run election defeating the People Democratic Party’s Mr Emmanuel Alamu who scored 22,507 votes .
Alhaji Shehu Sale,was a former member of the Nigeria’s House of representatives under the flagship of the All Progressives Congress for Magama Rijau federal constituency before decamping to APGA to contest for same position in 2019 general elections and lost to APC candidate.
The elections was however dismissed by the Supreme Court judgement however over allegation of APC’s candidate refusal to resign from his Civil Service.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Niger state Professor Sam Egwu, commended the electorates for their peaceful conduct during the election.
