Army Pledges Enhanced Security for Corps Members

The Nigerian Army has assured that its officers and men would ensure that Corps Members and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) formations within its areas of operation continuously enjoy maximum protection.

The General Officer Commanding, 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major General MLD Sarazo stated this when the Director General NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau’ Ahmed paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Kaduna, Kaduna State, North West Nigeria.

He said all Corps Members serving in the Division are equally accorded high priority with other privileges alongside the Army Officers.

Speaking further, he said that NYSC has always been a part of the Nigerian Army, hence, the need to foster a stronger relationship between both government establishments.

General Sarazo noted that the Division would continue to work with other sister security agencies, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious groups, political leaders and other stakeholders in the effective discharge of its duties.

“We will continue to provide adequate security for all Corps Lodges, NYSC Secretariats and Orientation Camps”, he said.

The Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, while speaking earlier, congratulated the GOC on his appointment.

He disclosed that 1 Div Kaduna is one of the critical stakeholders of NYSC, especially by providing a robust welfare package, security and other logistics support for Corps Members serving at the Division.

General Ahmed also commended the Division for its support for NYSC Kaduna State Secretariat, through the deployment of military personnel to the Orientation Camp for drills, physical training and other security matters.
