Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table after beating Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0, courtesy of goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, at the Emirates Stadium in London, England.
The hosts featured Jesus in attack, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli supporting on the wings. For the visitors, Evan Ferguson started up-front, with Kaoru Mitoma and Simon Adingra on the flanks.
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring after the Brazilian guided in a header from a corner kick early in the 53rd minute.
The Gunners created many chances in the encounter, registering 26 shots to Brighton’s six. Arsenal continued to dominate the match and looked to extend its lead.
In the minute 87th minute, Havertz doubled Arsenal’s lead after he fired in a shot from a pass by substitute Eddie Nketiah.
The goal gave Arsenal the cushion they needed as Brighton looked to stage a late comeback as the match finished 2-0 to the North London club..
Arsenal are now unbeaten in their last 13 home matches across all competitions.

The win ensures Arsenal move to the top of the Premier League table, while also capitalising on Manchester City’s failure to beat Crystal Palace on Saturday. Brighton, meanwhile, slip a place to ninth on the league table.
Arsenal face Liverpool at Anfield next Saturday for promises to be a thrilling encounter.
