Osun state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has declared Friday public holiday ahead of the State House of Assembly election billed for Saturday.
This was contained in a release signed by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed and obtained by our correspondent in Osogbo on Thursday.
According to the release, the holiday is to enable residents travel to their respective polling units to exercise their franchise on Saturday.
The release further advised residents to be peaceful and law abiding as they prepare for the election.
It also quoted the Governor as saying: “I call on Osun people to file out and exercise their civic rights.
“This election is very critical as you will be electing lawmakers who will be working with me. You must vote right”, Adeleke stated.
