The Nigeria Association of Auctioneers (NAA), has decried a huge revenue loss by the Nigerian government due to lack of transparency in handling auctioning of seized property by some Nigerian institutions across the country.

The National President of the Association, Alhaji Kurra Abubakar stated this during a press briefing in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital noting that “the association is frustrated whenever it insists on transparency during auctioning of property ordered to be sold by the court of law”.

Alhaji Abubakar said “the action of government institutions responsible for auctioning of national seized assets have been short changing the value thereby denying the federal government huge revenue that ran into billions of Naira”.

The Association’s President urged called on the incoming government to constitute a fact finding committee to go round the country in order to check the menace.

However, Alhaji Kurra Abubakar said that the association and Nigerians believe that the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will create ways of handling the auction challenges.
