A Civil Society Organisation, Jesz Development Foundation, says an attack on any political party is an assault on all other parties and therefore calls on security agencies to deal decisively with perpetrators and sponsors of such acts.
In a statement, the North West lead partner of the organization, Mrs. Zigwai Ayuba, reminded all political parties of the peace accord signed recently under the National Peace Committee for peaceful campaigns towards the 2023 general elections.
She said every political party in the country has a right to campaign in any location of its choice without causing or inciting violence.
The statement noted that its slogan, ‘Vote Not Fight’ strongly condemns the report of an attack on a political party at Ranchers Bees stadium in Kaduna, which disrupted presidential campaigns instead of promoting peaceful conduct the campaign.
It read that the organisation sympathises with all those affected by the recent flood disaster in the Northwest region of Nigeria and other parts of the country.
It called on various State Emergency Management Agencies and also NEMA to do more to ensure that the affected people find some relief.
