Diamonds Publication limited and the family of Nigerian Media Icon, Late Ben Egbuna have launched his Book titled ‘A Destiny Fulfilled’ amidst glowing reviews.
The Executive Editor of The News Magazine, Mr. Kunle Ajibade presenting his review of Late Ben Egbuna’s book titled ‘ A Fulfilled Destiny’ summarized the book to be one that reminds everyone that ‘indeed our destiny is in our hands’.
Similarly, the Chief Exective Officer of Diamond Publications Limited, Mr. Lanre Idowu said the book shares significant knowledge with not just media practitioners but everyone who seeks to add knowledge.
‘On any subject of interest such as media, leadership, governance, so I like biographies because of biographies, you learn about experiences, how they addressed challenges that they faced. It is a good feeling to be able to learn something about how someone succeeded in his own area, his own field. I think it says a lot about aspirations. I think everyone can learn from another person’s experience’
The Deputy Director, Public Affairs Voice of Nigeria, Mrs. Sylvia Dallas-Salami who represented the Director General of Voice of Nigeria commended the author for encouraging the younger generation in the media world to be professional and disciplined regardless of their tribe or religion.
‘I was not the only one that he encouraged, a lot of us in Voice of Nigeria, he would encourage you, he would teach you irrespective of where you come from, he was a detribalized Nigerian’
Also representing the President of the Guild of Editors, the Deputy Director, Digital Media, Voice of Nigeria, Mrs. Yinka Atolagbe praised the author for being a great teacher and mentor when he was alive.
She said ‘He taught me the rudiments of broadcast journalism, he was a great teacher and a great mentor for that matter and just as the book reviewer said, he was a good man and the profession will miss him’
The Wife of the author, Mrs. Betty Egbuna expressed her appreciation for all the support received in making her late husband’s dream a reality.
‘I have some kind of mixed feelings, I would have wanted my husband to be here to watch this presentation happen, he worked on his life putting this together, trying to make sure this book came out, he tried, twice or so , it didn’t work out. I’m glad he has some good friends who never left us because without their support, we would not have been able to do this and I am happy we fulfilled that his destiny by publishing this book’

Mrs. Egbuna urged everyone to get a copy of the book and read to gain many life lessons that helped Late Ben Egbuna to succeed not just in his career path but also as a family man who also cared for his community.
The Public presentation which held on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 in Lagos State, South west Nigeria had major stakeholders in the media industry in attendance.
Late Ben Egbuna, the Author of the Book, A Destiny Fulfilled had about thirty five productive years in the broadcast industry transversing the studios of Voice of Nigeria and Federal radio Corporation of Nigeria.
Until his death in January 2021, Late Ben Egbuna was Chief Executive Officer, Niche Media Limited, a media outfit he established.
One of the proud legacies of Ben Egbuna is now his 388-paged memoir titled ‘A Destiny fulfilled’ which he painstakingly wrote over the years detailing his exploits in the media world, his upbringing and personal life providing knowledge on his socialization and world view.
