Benue Governor Mourns Former President Muhammadu Buhari

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, located in North Central Nigeria, has expressed profound sorrow regarding the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The late President passed away on July 13, 2025, at a clinic in London.

Governor Alia conveyed his condolences to the Buhari family, the residents of Katsina State, and all citizens of Nigeria, underscoring President Buhari’s commitment to national development and integrity.

He remarked that former President Buhari, recognised for his service as both a military leader and a democratically elected president, has left an indelible mark on the nation’s history.

Governor Alia lauded Buhari’s steadfast dedication to Nigeria’s interests and the welfare of its populace, designating him a statesman, patriot, and leader.

The governor expressed his hopes for comfort for Buhari’s family and the nation, as well as eternal peace for the former President.

Additionally, former Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State also mourned the loss of President Buhari, acknowledging his significant contributions to Nigeria during his tenure as both a military leader and president.

Ortom extended his condolences to the Buhari family and sought divine blessings for the former President in the afterlife.
