Biodun Oyebanji Takes Oath Of Office As Ekiti Governor

Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has taken his oath of office as the Ekiti State Governor in South-West Nigeria.

He was sworn in by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye on Sunday October 16.

Governor Oyebanji’s deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye was also sworn in by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State. She took her oath of office at exactly 12:46 pm.

Dignitaries present include the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu; Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and his Plateau State counterpart, Simon Lalong.

Others include Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) among others.

Biodun Oyebanji contested the June 18 governorship poll, under the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket, he polled 187,057 votes to beat his closest rival, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party, who garnered 82,211 votes and Otunba Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party who raked in 67,457 votes.
