Borno Governor Flags-Off Distribution Of Tractors And Subsidized Fertilizers

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum had symbolically distribute 312 tractors to farmers across the 27 local government in Borno.
Zulum says the 27 local government of the state has 312 wards, each ward will have one tractor, at a discount loan of 50%.
He however said, “In allocating the tractors, each ward should form an agricultural cooperative society with a membership of not less than five and a maximum of ten persons.”
Governor Zulum stated that, the tractors were procured by his predecessor Kashim Shettima, while his administration procured over 300 harrowing and plowing equipment.
The govenor also noted that all tractors allocated cannot be sold or used outside the State, if caught by any he or she will face warth of the law
In addition to that, Governor Zulum flagged off the sale of fertilizer at subsidized rate to farmers for use during the 2023 cropping season.
“The bags of fertilizer shall be distributed to deserving farmers. I have also directed that the fertilizer should be at a discount rate of 25% of the actual market price to the farmers.”
The governor assured that the State Government has made available of over 100 trucks of blended NPK fertilizers for farmers to acquire at low prices of 25% less than the actual market prices.
