Borno State Governor Condoles With Adamawa State Over Eminent Scholar’s Death

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Adamawa State over the passing of renowned scholar, diplomat, and elder statesman, Professor Jubril Aminu.

Governor Zulum led a high-level delegation to Yola on Tuesday, visiting the palace of the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, and the residence of the late professor to pay respects and offer sympathies to the bereaved family.

While addressing the gathering, Zulum described Professor Aminu as a national asset whose contributions to education and public service resonated across Nigeria. “We are here to commiserate with Your Highness, the Emirate Council, and the entire people of Adamawa. Professor Jubril Aminu served diligently, not only in Borno but throughout the country. His legacy in education and national development remains indelible,” the governor stated.

He offered prayers for the late professor, asking Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and to give his family the strength to bear the loss.

The condolence delegation was initiated by prominent businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi, who also described Professor Aminu’s death as a monumental loss to the nation. Indimi emphasized that prayers would continue to be offered for the repose of the late statesman’s soul.

Other dignitaries on the delegation included Senator Barrister Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Members of the House of Representatives Hon. Kadiri Rahis and Hon. Bukar Talba, Member of the Borno State House of Assembly Hon. Abdullahi Askira, and businessman Ahmed Indimi.

The delegation was received on behalf of the Lamido by Galadima Adamawa, Alhaji Mustapha Aminu, and the elder son of the deceased, Murtala Jubril Aminu.

They expressed profound gratitude for the solidarity shown by the people and government of Borno during this period of mourning.

Professor Jubril Aminu was a distinguished academic, diplomat, and public servant who served Nigeria in various capacities, including as Minister of Education, Minister of Petroleum, and Nigerian Ambassador to the United States.

His legacy continues to inspire generations.
