Burkina Faso Seeks Security Advice from Nigeria

Burkina Faso’s Military has sought Nigeria’s advice and ideas on how best to fight terrorism in its country.

The Chief of General Staff, Burkina Faso Armed Forces, Senior Colonel David Kabre stated this known when he paid an official visit to Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Lucky Irabor in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Senior Colonel Kabre said that “he equally visited to tap from Nigeria Defence experience in the fight against terrorism since Nigeria is also facing the security challenges.”

He said that he came for the graduation ceremony at National Defence College Nigeria.

Senior Colonel Kabre said that “he has been longing to visit the CDS since he assumed office in his new appointment.”

In his response, the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor congratulated Burkina Faso’s Chief of General Staff for his visit saying “he has not only come to seek advice on how to tackle security challenges facing his country but to collaborate towards defeating terrorism within the West African Sub-region.”

General Irabor said that “together, Sahel Regions would address these security challenges.”

He promised to give Burkina Faso his support, especially on the issues of National security threats in his country.

Both the principal officers of Burkina Faso and Nigerian Defence we’re present during the official visit.
