Burna Boy, Tems listed in New African Magazine’s top 100 influencers

Most Nigerians secured spots on the New African Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential Africans in 2023.

The New African Magazine described the list as one made up of a diverse and inspiring group of men and women, who have showcased excellence, innovation, leadership, resilience, and vision in various fields.


The magazine features individuals from different sectors, including politics, entrepreneurship, industry, environmentalism, creativity, science, education, sports, and more.
The most notable figures on the list are Nigerian musicians Tems and Burna Boy, both Grammy winners, who were recognized in the creative category.
They share the spotlight with other artists such as South African DJ Black Coffee, Pop star Tyla, Algerian disc jockey DJ Snake, and Ethiopian-born Canadian megastar The 3Weeknd.
The inclusion of these musicians highlights their significant contributions to the global creative landscape.

New African is an English-language monthly news magazine based in London. Published since 1966, it is read by many people across the African continent and the African diaspora. It claims to be the oldest pan-African monthly in English, as well as “the bestselling pan-African magazine”
