CAF Champions League Round Up
It was the end of the road for Nigeria club side, Plateau United in the CAF Champions League as their goalless draw against Simba SC was not enough to book a spot for them in the next round BSNsports.com.ng reports.
Plateau United put up a fair performance in Tanzania but losing the first leg 1-0 at home meant their goalless draw away was irrelevant.
Enyimba on the other hand, will have their first leg performance and win in Burkina Faso against Rahimo to thank as the second leg ended in a 1-1 draw in Aba. The results leaves the aggregate 2-1 in favor of Enyimba.
Two late goals by Sydney Ochieng and Nicholas Kipkurui secured the next round tickets for Gor Mahia FC against Rwanda’s APR on a 4-3 aggregate.
The Kenyan Champions lost the first leg 2-1 away last week. Samuel Onyang 17th minute goal gave them the lead at home but an 82nd minute equaliser for APR by Nsanzimfura silenced the home fans who thought their club was on it way out before two late goals by Ochieng and Kipkurui turned things around.
