Children’s Day: Ebonyi improves children’s sporting skills

As Ebonyi State, South-East Nigeria joins its counterparts in the World to celebrate 2021 Children’s Day, the state Government says it has improved the skills of Ebonyi Children on sporting activities.

The State Commissioner for Education, Dr Oyebuchi Chima stated this while addressing Journalists on this year’s Children’s Day in Abakaliki, the State capital.

Chima said many sporting talents have  been discovered in the lives of Ebonyi Children.

“As I speak to you, the state through the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youths and sports has concluded talents discovery on sporting activities at Local Government levels. Today, as part of the hunting process, the zone stage of the David Umahi School sports events would be rounded off”, he said.

He thanked Children for availing themselves in the State School sports competitions.

“Very soon, Ebonyi Children will start leading in Federation International Football Association FIFA with this spate of sports development in the State”, Chima added.

Out of School Children
Chima said the State Government has made plans to ensure that no Ebonyi child is out of school.

The state is doing very well in terms of welfare of women and children through the Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Welfare and Religious matters, Very Reverend Father Abraham Nwali.
