‘Collective Punishment’ Inflicted On Palestinians In Gaza- UN

UN’s Chief Antonio Guterres has told the UN Security Council: “Nothing can justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people”.

Medical sources said “at least 40” Palestinians were killed in Khan Younis over the day while Israeli bombings are preventing the recovery of “dozens” more bodies.

The Israeli military has ordered almost 90,000 residents and 425,000 displaced people to leave a 4sq km (1.4sq miles) residential area in Khan Younis, UNOCHA says.

Israel’s military announced its deadliest single day for troops since the Gaza ground invasion began, with 24 Israeli soldiers killed.

At least 25,490 people have been killed and 63,000 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The revised death toll in Israel from the October 7 Hamas attacks stands at 1,139.
