The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum has pledged to give all needed support to Operation HADIN KAI in order to wipe out the remnants of insurgents, pointing out that the end to the activities of the Terrorist is near in the light of the tremendous successes already achieved by the Joint Task Force.
He stated this when he received the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Ibrahim Ali at the government house Maiduguri, the state capital.
Governor Zulum welcomed the Theatre Commander back home having served in the North East in different locations, holding a series of appointments up to Sector Commander.
The visit was in continuation of the familiarization visits to critical stakeholders in the ongoing onslaught against the insurgents in North East (NE) Nigeria, after taking over as the Theatre Commander.
The Governor used the opportunity to discuss areas of continuous collaboration, the effort of the State Government in the non-kinetic approach to ending the activities of the Insurgents as well as the plan to ensure all Internally Displaced Persons return to their ancestral homes.
He re-emphasized the readiness of the State Government to continue to work in collaboration with OPHK and to support its operational activities.
Major General Ibrahim Ali while stating the purpose of his visit pointed out that having assumed Command as the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East OPHK, he saw the urgent need to pay a familiarization visit to the Governor to inform him of his assumption of office.
While appreciating the Governor for his continuous support to OPHK, the Theatre Commander also requested for more commitment from the State Government, especially in the non-kinetic aspect of the operations which according to him is key to ending terrorism and an enabler for socio-economic activities to thrive.
General Ali assured him of the determination and commitment of his command to remain resolute in their strive to eliminate the terrorist within the Theatre.
He equally declared his resolve to sustain the mutual working relationship his predecessor had already established with Borno State Government.
