COVID-19: Gombe vaccinates 96 persons at NYSC camp

Over 96 corp members in Gombe state have taken the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at the orientation camp.

While administering the vaccine at the temporary orientation camp Amada Akko local government area, an official of the Gombe Primary Healthcare Development Agency Bello Baba, lectured both the staff and Corps members that the COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective.

He went on that the vaccine would protect them from the coronavirus, but added that they should continue to observe the basic safety protocols as specified.

Recall that as part of the effort to rid the NYSC camp of COVID-19, the Gombe State NYSC had inaugurated Coronavirus vanguard to enlighten corps members about the modes of transmission and prevention, safety protocols.

Baba stressed further corps members must continue to take prevention measures seriously, noting that regular hand washing, use of sanitizer, wearing a facemask, physical distancing should be maintained as advised.

He said, “The vaccine is safe. All camp participants who have not taken their first jab should do so for their own good.”

Also speaking, the State Coordinator, NYSC Gombe, Ada Imoni who reiterated that the COVID-19 vaccine is safe and healthy.

She disclosed that she has personally taken the vaccine, urging camp participants to ignore negative information about it.
