Cross River State: Constituents Assure APC Lawmaker of Renewed Tenure

The people of Abi – Yakurr Federal Constituency have assured the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) legislator, Dr. Alex Egbuna, of a renewed four-year term in Nigeria’s House of Representatives.
The electorate, which included traditional leaders, youth and women groups, gave the assurances during the lawmaker’s ward-to-ward campaign tour across the two local government areas of Abi and Yakurr.
Credibility
Speaking, a traditional leader known as the Obol Lopon of Ekori, Obol Donatus Ofem, described Dr. Egbuna as a man of substance, a personal friend and son of the soil.
“Egbuna understands the terrain in the National Assembly and as such the Ekori people will follow him, support and re-elect him next month,” he noted.
Another leader, Mr. Elemi Stephen Elemi, in a remark said,
“The candidate, Alex Egbuna, is credible and ‘sellable’ to the people of Cross River state, and we do not need to struggle to win elections.
“In the next four years, I am expecting so much because we have seen that he has been a good representative for the Abi/Yakurr people.”
Also, another indigene of the state, Mrs. Grace Enya, said:
“I have benefitted from this man, Alex Egbuna. His politics is not fraudulent; I totally support him.
“In my entire life we have not had it this good. This man is trustworthy, and I urge other women to vote for him because it is not about party.
“He should be encouraged to do more like he has already done.”
Promise Keeper
Responding, the legislator reiterated his commitment to the people and assured of his resolve to give back to the society, when re-elected to serve a second term.
Egbuna commended the people for the tremendous support given to him in the last four years, which would be winding down on May 29, 2023.
“In 2019 when I indicated the interest to contest for the Abi/Yakurr seat in the House of Representatives, I was very clear on what I wanted for my constituents.
“Those who know me are aware that I am a man of my words. When I make promises, I go the extra mile to keep them.
“Even though the journey has been very rough, especially with all the legal tussles I faced in the first two years, I was able to keep my eyes on the promises made.
“And I can beat my chest to say that I did much more than I promised.
“Service delivery has become a lifestyle for me and I will continue to serve selflessly whenever I have the privilege of doing so.
“Please, vote for me come February 25, 2023 and vote for the APC,” he said.
The Alex Egbuna campaign tour has visited Idomi, Ekori, Nko, Ntan Ajere and other wards within the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency canvassing for votes.
