Residents are still voting in Governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State, which election observers have adjudged peaceful.

During a visit to most of the Local Government Areas, LGA, within the district, including Abi, Yakuur, Obubra, Etung and Ikom LGAs, voters were seen queuing up to cast their votes in their various polling units.

INEC ad-hoc staff deployed for the exercise were doing their work diligently with the  BVAS, ballot papers and other election materials.

They were a few cases of BVAS malfunctioning in polling units in Ikom and Etung LGAs, which delayed the voting process for a while, but were, however, corrected and the exercise continued smoothly.

Security personnel are on ground in all the polling units to ensure the peaceful conduct of the election.
