Nigeria’s Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) and the Small Business Training Solutions (SBTS) based in the United States have taken their partnership further with the launch of a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
The launch took place on Wednesday at the Abuja Campus of the DBI, located in the Headquarters of the Organisation.
The Campus is also hosting the Organisations’ Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Centre.
According to the President and CEO of DBI, Mr. David Daser, “the event marks a significant milestone in the journey of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) as we evolve into a more agile, responsive, and future-focused institution that supports national development in the digital age.
“Today’s pre-launch is more than just the unveiling of new facilities, it is a powerful testament to collaboration, innovation, and our shared vision for a digitally empowered Nigeria.
“Our partnership with SBTS Group has enabled us to make this vision a reality, bringing to life a platform that will train, employ, and empower Nigerian youth in the high-demand sectors of outsourcing services and cybersecurity,” Daser stated.
He said that the BPO Centre is designed to position Nigeria as a key player in the global outsourcing industry, while the SOC is a timely response to the escalating threats in the nation’s digital environment, “ensuring we build capacity to protect our national digital infrastructure.”
The President was optimistic that with these centres, Nigeria is not only creating jobs but also creating skills, resilience, and security.
Daser thanked the partners at SBTS for what he described as their unwavering commitment and technical expertise, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy for their continued support.
“To the future workforce and digital guardians of Nigeria who will pass through these centres: this is for you. Your time is now.
“At this juncture, I would like to make a special call to the private sector, especially off-takers in the BPO ecosystem. We invite you to partner with us by engaging the services of our skilled workforce,” he stated.
The Chief Executive Officer of SBTS, Mr. Evelyn Lewis, said the pre-launch of the two Centres symbolises a new chapter for digital capacity building and economic transformation in Nigeria.
“At SBTS Nigeria, we are proud to unveil this state-of-the-art BPO Centre and Security Operations Centre under the framework of our flagship initiative — the Intelligent Capacity Building Model, or ICBM.
“The ICBM is a strategic model that merges workforce development with real-time technological deployment. It is built not just to train, but to transform, equipping young Nigerians with the high-demand digital and cybersecurity skills needed to compete and thrive in the global digital economy.
“This facility is more than bricks and machines — it is an engine of innovation, job creation, and national development,” he said.
He said that the vision aligns closely with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, particularly in the areas of skills development, youth employment, and digital inclusion.
“We see this partnership with DBI not just as a project, but as a national mission — one that will unlock the immense potential of Nigeria’s human capital to power a secure and sustainable digital economy,” Lewis said.
