As Muslims in Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria, join their counterparts in the world to celebrate 2024 Eid Al-Fitr, the Chief Imam of Abakaliki Central Mosque, Mohammed Aminu Labaran, has emphasised the importance of embracing peace and Unity.

Labaran, addressing journalists in the state capital, urged all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of peace and harmony during the festivities.

Highlighting the significance of Eid Al-Fitr, Labaran stressed the necessity for Nigerians to refrain from engaging in activities that could incite violence or unrest across the country.

Echoing Labaran’s sentiments, the leader of the Hausa Community in Ebonyi State, Mr. Danjuma Gambo, emphasised the essence of fostering a strong connection with one’s creator during the Eid celebrations.

Gambo encouraged unity among Nigerians, urging citizens to recognize their common humanity and refrain from divisive behaviour.

“God has not made a mistake by putting us in one Country, so let’s remain together,” Gambo emphasised.

Adding to the discourse, the State Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Mr. Ernest Nasiru Nwaze, commended the Eid Al-Fitr celebrations for fostering peace and unity among Nigerians, especially following the conclusion of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, the Women Leader of the Hausa Community in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Hadiza Abubaka, extended warm wishes for a joyous celebration to everyone.

The Eid Al-Fitr festivities received a boost from the generous gesture of Senator Barrister Onyekachi Nwebonyi, who represents Ebonyi North Senatorial District. Senator Nwebonyi had earlier donated one million Naira, along with food items, to the Hausa Community, in a bid to enhance their celebrations.
