Ebonyi Government Creates Over 6,5000 Jobs to Boost Economy

The Governor of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria Engr David Umahi says he has Created over 6,5000 direct and indirect Jobs in the State to boost the economy.

Governor Umahi who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe disclosed this while delivering his address during the 2023 workers’ day at pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki the State Capital.

He said the Government in power has been in cordial relationship with workers in the State.

“We have created Jobs at President Mohamed Buhari International Airport Abakaliki, King David University of Medical Sciences, International Market and so on.”

The State Chairman of Nigeria Labor Congress NLC in the State, Professor  Oguguo Egwu while addressing the workers said May Day was dedicated to the Chicago Workers who were massacred for demanding their rights at their workplace.

“Today we remember the fallen Heroes of Labor who paid special prizes for the entire workforce.”

He however urged  Ebonyi State Government to improve welfare packages for all Ebonyi workers and provided more staff in our primary Healthcare Centers and General Hospitals.

“In all ramifications, our workers should always enjoy their rights and be on time.”

He added that Government at all times should prioritize Social Justice in all they do.

The Head of Service of the State, Dr Ritamary Okoro thanked Governor Umahi for his regular Workers’ welfare which regular payment of salaries cannot be exempted.
