Ebonyi Government to empower women and Youths with N2.6 billion

Ebonyi State Government, in Southeast Nigeria is set to disburse of N2.6 billion to women and youths as part of its NG-Cares Empowerment Programme and Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme.

 

The State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barrister Orji Uchenna Orji disclosed this to Journalists after the Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Abakaliki, the State Capital.

 

Barrister Orji said “EXCO approved that the empowerment funds be disbursed to beneficiaries from the end of May, 2022″. 

 

He also noted that the EXCO meeting approved Six Hundred Million Naira (N600M) for the state’s 7th Anniversary celebration. A week long programme which is scheduled to take place in the 1st week of June, 2022.

 

EXECUTIVE ORDER

 

Orji added that an Executive Order on indiscriminate pasting of papers, posters, banners, and erection of billboards within the State was signed by the state Governor, David Umahi which will maintain the status of the State as one of the neatest capital cities in Nigeria.

 

He added that the state government is set to give Scholarship in 6 Departments of King David University of Medical Services to Nigerian Students through a highly competitive examination process.

 

“The Six Departments include: Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Lab Sciences, Optometry and Dentistry”.
