Ebonyi State: Christian Clerics advocate peace, unity in Nigeria

As Christians all over the world commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Bishop of Anglican Communion,  Monday Nkwegu has called on Nigerians to be peacemakers.

Bishop Nkwegu stated this during the Easter Sunday celebration at the Diocese of Anglican Communion, Abakaliki the Ebonyi State capital.

The Bishop maintained that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has brought salvation to all mankind.

He Prayed for those who are passing through one pain or the other to hope in God as he has the answers to all their problems.

He also called on Nigeria Leaders to always pay attention to the plights of their followers.

“If you can only listen to the plights of the led and on time, first there would be peace all the time, second there would be no bitterness and rancour among our youths, third the youths themselves would volunteer to secure the Country even when there is no monetary attachment and finally, insecurity would be a thing of the past, Bishop Nkwegu advised.

Also a Priest of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Reverend Gabriel Ude said the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ has released all humanities from bondage and all kinds of crisis meaning that from today, there will be peace in  Nigeria

The former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Maggaret Nworie urged Nigerian Youths to be agents and partners in progress other than agents of destruction through politicians.

 “Our youths should be harnessed on time to enable them to contribute their quota to the development of our dear country Nigeria, Nworie said.

She, therefore, called on Nigerian youths to continue being good and shun evil ways.
