President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that the economic reforms introduced by his administration present numerous opportunities for Nigerians.
He made the statement on Tuesday during the opening of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Summit, a programme showcasing the achievements of the current administration.
The summit, held at the Conference Centre of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, brought together governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as party leaders. It also provided a platform for stakeholders to strategise ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the aim of securing President Tinubu a second term and ensuring APC’s success across all levels.

Declaring the summit open, President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, said the event was an opportunity to reflect on the gains of the reforms introduced by his administration.
“From the start, our administration towed the path of honesty and discipline. We confronted deep-seated structural distortions and, in so doing, we have restored fiscal credibility, stabilised the economy and set the foundation for long-term economic growth.
“Today, we are seeing clear signs that our reforms have begun to yield results. Inflationary pressures are moderating, fuel prices are easing, our currency is strong and stable,” he said.
The President also highlighted Nigeria’s growing visibility and strength within the global economic community.
“Of the seven major investment decisions made in Africa last year, five were done in Nigeria, and that goes to show the strength, viability and the promise of the Nigerian economy,” he added.
President Tinubu further emphasised the importance of public understanding and participation in the ongoing reforms. He urged all Renewed Hope Ambassadors to engage citizens across Nigeria, spreading awareness of the administration’s achievements since 2023.

The President highlighted landmark tax reforms aimed at protecting the vulnerable, promoting enterprise, and ensuring transparency in public finance. Regarding the recent executive order affecting remittances to the federation account, he said:
“It is designed to safeguard federation revenues, eliminate duplicative structures, curb waste and ensure that resources are responsibly managed for maximal national benefits.”
He noted that no reform can succeed without public participation and identified the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as a critical communication channel.
“This platform shall serve as the avenue for civic engagement. Ambassadors must explain why tough decisions had to be made and how they lead to jobs, security, enterprise, opportunities and a more stable future.
“They must counter misinformation with facts, replace rumour with evidence and ensure that Nigerians from across the country have access to the truth. They must also serve as the channel for feedback, bringing community concerns and lived experiences back to the government.”

National Chairman of the APC, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, described the gathering as a defining moment for the party. He emphasised that effective communication is critical for translating governance achievements into political capital.
“Good governance without communication is invisible. I’ve visited many states. I’ve seen beautiful projects, beautiful things being done, but they’re invisible and not communicated,” he said.
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, said the summit was designed to unify the APC structure into a stronger and more cohesive political family.
“Lack of citizen understanding creates perception gaps,” he noted, adding that initiatives such as the Dangote Refinery and other indigenous firms have helped Nigeria move away from chronic oil and gas underproduction.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, urged authorities to allow citizens to “add value” to the party’s efforts across the nation.
Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, described the Renewed Hope Agenda as a message unifying the country, while Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu on behalf of the Federal Executive Council, affirming commitment to making the next phase of reforms even more transformative.
A highlight of the event was the unveiling of a compendium detailing the achievements of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
