ECOWAS Deploys Observation Mission to Guinea Ahead of Election

The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, has deployed a Medium-Term Election Observation Mission to Guinea as part of its support toward restoring constitutional order in the Republic of Guinea.

The fifteen-member technical team arrived in the Guinean capital Conakry to begin their assessment ahead of the presidential election scheduled for December 28, 2025.

The Medium-Term Election Observation Mission to Guinea is approved by the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray. The mission
is led by the Acting Head of the ECOWAS Electoral Assistance Division, Mr. Serigne Mamadou Ka.

Guinea is set to hold its first presidential election since the 2021 military coup, following a decree.
