A philanthropic organisation, Aliyu Bello Foundation has donated educational equipment to no fewer than 500 pupils drawn from fifteen primary schools across Lafia Local Government of Nasarawa State.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr Aliyu Bello stated this while distributing the educational equipment at Dunama Primary School in Lafia, the state capital.
“I feel highly honoured to provide for the less privilege and orphans as our foundation has a history of catering for the widows, orphans and less privilege in the society”
“We are assisting the pupils that are about to write their common entrance examination, with school bags, exercise books, mathematical set, pen and pencils
“Most of the pupils in public primary schools don’t have school bags and some even don’t have books, as such Aliyu Bello Foundation deems it fit to assist the government as the governor is doing all it takes in making education accessible to all
“It is our efforts to assist the government in ensuring we provide quality education to our children.“ Bello added
He further unveiled the construction of a three-block classroom using the new bricks technology.
Governor Abdullahi Sule commended the foundation for helping the less privileged and orphans in the society.
Sule who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government Aliyu Ubandoma said despite the foundation is a non-governmental organization focused on the protection of the rights of the child.
He, therefore, appealed to the school children to continue upholding the virtues of seriousness with learning, discipline, and hard work for their future benefits.
A Senator representing the Southern senatorial zone, Mr Tanko Al-Makura, lauded Aliyu Bello Charity foundation for complementing government efforts in the area of manpower development, moral values and discipline.
He added that education was a tested social tool that breaks down barriers through communication, and promotes understanding and cooperation within local and global communities.
