EFCC Tasks 318 New Cadet officers On Patriotism

Nigeria’s Anti-graft Agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has graduated 318 cadet officers with a charge on them to be patriotic in strengthening the war against corruption in the country.

The Acting Executive Chairman of the commission Mr Abdulkarim Chukkol made the call while addressing the Detective Superintendent Cadet officers in Karu, Abuja Nigeria’s Capital.

Chukkol informed the new officers of the involving trends in Economic and Financial Crimes, saying, the Anti-graft Agency must continue to up fierce battle against them by prevention, through sensitization and enforcement.

“The EFCC, as you know, is championing the fight against these unwholesome acts perpetrated by unscrupulous persons whose aim is gaining illicit wealth at the expense of the safety and security of the generality of the public and the image of our dear nation.”

The Acting EFCC Chairman mentioned that the commission is re-strategizing and re-positioning itself for a better Anti-corruption fight in Nigeria.

“Let me reiterate that the commission has zero tolerance for corruption in discipline and unprofessional conduct.”

He urged the new officers to be loyal to the constituted authorities as any act of corruption, disloyalty, disobedience and insubordination will be decisively dealt with.

“You have all been sworn to oaths of allegiance and secrecy to be loyal to the nation, and the EFCC as well. Treat in strict confidence, any information that comes to your knowledge in the course of carrying out your duty.”

The Secretary to the commission Mr George Egbungu urged the new officers to uphold the integrity and avoid any compromise in the course of their official engagements.

Egbungu called on the parents not to interfere with the job of their children for the success of the Anti-corruption war in Nigeria.

The Commandant of the EFCC Academy Mr. Ayo Olowonihi informed the cadets to put into practice what was thought of them and remain truthful in their dealings.

“Remember all that I told you remember all that your senior colleagues told you. As you go out, be guided by the truth. Because the truth is one,” Mr Peter advised.

He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu management of the EFCC for the approval and support of the twelve months of training.

Out of the 318 EFCC Detective Superintendents, 63 are females.

Awards were presented to deserving officers for their outstanding performance in different areas.
