The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned skit makers, comedians, content creators and movie producers against the unauthorised use of the agency’s branded jackets, symbols, and insignia in movies and skits.

The Head, Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, gave the warning via the commission’s official Twitter handle on Wednesday, June 21, 2023

He added that the use of the EFCC brand in such visuals without authorisation is illegal.

“The Public Affairs Department of the Commission is adequately equipped to work with motion picture practitioners desirous of partnering with the Commission in using films and skits to educate the public, especially the youth on the dangers of economic and financial crimes.”

The Commission also warned that anyone found acting contrary to its advisory shall henceforth be treated as an impersonator and dealt with accordingly.
