The President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubakar has felicitated with Muslim faithfuls on the celebration of the 2023 Eid Al-Adha also recognised in Islam as the “Grand Eid” or “Big Sallah”.

He said Eid Al-Adha is a Feast of Sacrifice and the most important feast in the Muslim calendar which celebrates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael in submission to Allah’s command before he was stopped by Allah.

He also states that Eid Al-Adha has a more important status in religious terms and falls on the 10th day of Dhul al-Hijjah; the twelfth and final month in the Islamic calendar.

The President implored everyone across the nation to use this period to reflect and pray for the nation’s peace and unity while urging the Federal Government to put in place policies that would enhance economic growth and development of the business community.

He called on all muslim faithfuls not to lose faith in the country but to intensify prayers and renew their hope that the new government would overcome its current challenges. He admonished every celebrant to continue to show love, care and compassion to one another, as taught by the Holy Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W).

Dr Abubakar said Eid is a chance to multiply good deeds by bringing happiness and pleasure to the hearts of other Muslims, by helping and supporting the poor and needy, and by getting involved in pastimes that emphasise strong and serious Islamic character.
