Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has heartily felicitated with Muslim on the celebration of this year’s Eid-Al-Fitr while urging them to strengthen the bond of friendship and unity across the state.

“We thank Allah for a successful Ramadan Fast and for the peace of the State and wish Muslims around the world a successful Sallah celebration,” Governor Fintiri said.

Governor Fintiri also appealed to Muslims to always exhibit the good virtues of Ramadan for the progress of the society.

While urging the good people of the State to sustain their prayers for peace and stability in Adamawa, the Governor said “We extend our sincere happiness to Almighty Allah that has made it possible for us to see this important day and pray that he continues to grant favour to our dear State, Adamawa for peace and progress”.

A statement by the Adamawa State Government said the Governor congratulated Muslims at the end of the Holy month of Ramadan, but regrets that humanity is going through the tough test of coronavirus.

He, however, said Adamawa State Government was managing the process effectively very.

The Governor called on Muslims to observe the festival by being conscious of the Coronavirus pandemic and by strictly adhering to the protocols of COVID-19, which is still a source for concern.

He gave the assurance that Government would work to cushion the adverse impacts of the virus in the state.

Governor Fintiri noted that the successful one-month-long Ramadan Fasting had ushered in Eid Al Fitr celebrations and called for the cooperation of all towards finding a lasting solution to the myriad of challenges facing the country.

“Let us embrace the spirit of love, tolerance, forgiveness and brotherhood preached by Islam and other religions. Having observed strictly the injunctions of Almighty Allah by self-denial through fasting and prayers and by offering Zakat to the less privileged, the lessons learned during the holy month should not be lost,” Governor Fintiri said.
