As Muslim communities celebrate Eid al-Fitr to mark the end of the Ramadan fast, the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly Danladi Jatau has called for the need to sustain the prayers and other good virtues exhibited during the holy month to build an egalitarian society.

In a statement signed by his Press Secretary Jibrin Gwamna, the Speaker felicitated with Muslims on successfully ending the month-long Ramadan fast and ushering in the Sallah festival.

The statement quotes the Speaker as calling on believers to use the period to sustain their prayers for the nation to overcome its emerging challenges.

He emphasized the need for citizens to keep hope alive in the face of economic challenges.

Speaker Jatau enjoined the citizens to use their diversity as a source of unity and strength. He called on youths and other Nigerians to remain committed to constituted authorities and to champion the course of peace, unity and development of the society.

While calling for support to government and leaders at all levels to succeed, Speaker Jatau tasked religious, traditional and community leaders to continue to preach peace and unity among their people.

The Speaker re-affirmed the commitment of the 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly under his watch to continue to partner with Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration for sustainable peace and development of the state. He equally called on the citizens to show more understanding, prayers and support to enable them to succeed in the task ahead of them.

He also wished all Muslims a successful Sallah celebration.
