Eid Al-Fitr: NSCDC deploys 951 Personnel in Anambra

The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Commandant Maku Olatunde A in a move to tighten the noose around criminals and their henchmen has ordered the deployment of 951of its personnel across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

Comdt.Maku stated this in Awka, the state capital,through an Operational Order issued to all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers (DOs), Heads of Formation and tactical units, instructing them to ensure sufficient security coverage and peaceful conduct of the Sallah celebrations in the state.

According to him, proactive and robust anti- crime measures, including deployment of tactical and intelligence assets of the command are already in place to prevent any untoward incidents in and around the state.

Addressing the personnel, Comdt. Maku commended them for display of professionalism even as he urged them to remain alert and vigilant to prevent any unpleasant situation.

He said the command has deployed all assets including kinetic and non- kinetic approaches at its disposal to curtail criminal activities before, during and after the festive period.

“To ensure that Muslims in the state have a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, the command has mobilized operatives to cover all nooks and crannies of the state, which include Eid praying grounds , recreational centres, and other public places. 

 

” The essence of this deployment is to ensure that miscreants and disgruntled elements do not take advantage of the occasion to perpetrate criminality

“The Command has sustained its operations acted on actionable intelligence and continually emplace strategies that are potent enough to combat all forms of violent crimes, vandalism , kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry and cultism among others. 

” We are on high alert and shall continue to thwart the plans of these criminals, it is them and us and this is a fight we are not willing to lose. We have heightened our operations and are intensifying them throughout the state,” said Maku.

The NSCDC State helmsman warned disgruntled elements, miscreants, hoodlums, and vandals intending to cause any form of violence or disturbance of public peace to have a rethink or desist as NSCDC is fully prepared and battle ready to deal with them decisively to ensure safety and security in the State.

He further called for collective effort among citizens and security agencies to fish out perpetrators of heinous crimes in society cautioning the public not to shield anyone they reasonably suspect engaging in crime for the benefit of Ndi Anambra.

Comdant Maku also felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Interior; Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo , the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi, and all Muslims for successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the Eid-Ei Fitr celebrations.

The NSCDC helmsman urged residents in the state to be vigilant, observe security and safety tips, as well as collaborate with NSCDC and other security agencies to avert any breach of peace in the interest of the state.

He enjoined groups and individuals not to engage in any act capable of breaching peace in the state.He also warned criminal elements disturbing the peace in the state and making life unbearable for residents, would not have a field day any longer.

While congratulating the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast; the NSCDC Anambra State boss in line with the celebration called on them to show love , trust, respect for one another and internalise the lessons learned during the Holy month for peaceful co-existence in the country.
