Eid Al-Fitr: VP Shettima Prays In Borno State

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima has performed the two Raqa’at prayers marking this year’s Eid al-Fitr at the Ramat Square Eid ground in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Borno State, Shettima Mamman-Saleh on Wednesday.

The Vice President, was joined by Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn-Garbai and other Muslim faithful at the congregational prayer.

This started the celebrations for this year’s Eid al-Fitr signifying the end of the Holy month of Ramadan.

Soon after the prayer session, the Vice President paid Sallah Homage to the paramount ruler and Chairman, Borno State Traditional Council and Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn-Garbai at his palace.

A durbar will later hold at the palace, in honour of Vice President Shettima, who is an illustrious son of Borno State.

Maiduguri the State capital is generally peaceful, with paying visits to families and friends as security personnel patrolling the streets to ensure safety.
