Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has called for increased love and more understanding among Nigerians irrespective of their religious affiliations for a peaceful co-existence and growth of the country.

He also urged Muslim faithfuls to emulate the virtues of Prophet Mohammed as they celebrate the Eid-el-Maulud.

“I congratulate the Muslim Ummah, and I pray to Allah that this blessed day, in which our Prophet graced the whole world with his birth, will be a blessing for all humanity.”

He said the country would continue to develop and grow if the citizens displayed love and understanding among themselves and the government.

“The Prophet was a man of peace and he shared the message of love and peace through the religion of Islam throughout his lifetime,” he said.

“It is a challenging period for us in Nigeria but our government in Adamawa is equal to the task and desirous of improving the lives of our people. We just need their love, support, prayers and understanding,” he added

The Governor urged Nigerians to therefore shun violence, and desist from any act that could lead to the breakdown of law and order especially as the nation prepares for the 2023general elections.

“The only way you can do this is by sharing love and understanding among yourselves which is the major ingredient for a peaceful co-existence, the main message of the Prophet of Islam.”

Governor Fintiri while wishing Muslims and residents of the State a peaceful celebration said on the occasion of the commemoration of the birth of the holy Prophet, “It is imperative to reflect on his teachings and uphold his legacies of unity, integrity, peaceful coexistence and love for one’s neighbour, which are indispensable in the quest for meaningful development and the profitable management of our diversity.
