Anambra State: Labour Party Youths drum up Support For Candidates

The Youth Wing of Labour Party (LP) in  Anambra State has held a Summit in Awka, the state capital to drum support for the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his running mate, Baba Ahmed Datti.

The Anambra state Labour Party Chairman, Hon. Ugochukwu Emeh in his speech, urged the youth leaders of various local government areas to show capacity, stressing that the party has what it takes to win the 2023 election.

At the Summit
The Campaign cordinator, Hon. Joe Martins, while speaking to the youths lamented the lack of empowerment and unemployment facing the nation. He encouraged youths to keep the faith alive by being steadfast, emphasizing that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
The Anambra South Senatoral candidate, Dr. Obinna Uzo (KSJ), in his speech encouraged party faithfuls to take the crusade down to the grassroots, stating that the Labour Party has the best candidates.
“Charity begins at home and as  Anambrarians, we have to deliver our son Peter Obi and all other candidates.
“We shall vote Labour Party from top to bottom.
“We shall go from door-to-door campaigning, and I am certain that Obi’s government will pay attention to youths and women,”he said.
The National Organizing Secretary and Guest of Honour, Chief Clement Ojukwu, in his speech highlighted the importance of the summit.
He called on youths not to allow themselves to be used as thugs.
“The youths constitute the majority of Nigeria’s population so they have the power to change the country,” he added.

Guest speaker, Chief Victor Umeh, the Anambra Central Senatorial Candidate said God wants to use the Labour Party to librate Nigeria.
“What is happening has caught the eyes of people.
“Peter Obi is the shining star. It started like a joke. This is the second missionary journey of Peter Obi.
“This was how he started in Anambra with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), a new party then, and now it’s about to repeat again.
“What he started on a very small scale has become a tsunami.
“Peter Obi has united Nigeria towards the purpose of librating the country. He is that star that God has brought out. 
“Wherever Peter Obi goes, people listen to him. He is specially anointed and everyday his support base is multiplying. This is how God works.
“The grace of God is abundant. Lack of employment is the order of the day. The youths have become aggressive and they want to make sure Peter Obi becomes the next president. 
“The battle is for everybody but more particular for the youths. The elderly people have limited strength.
“The youths know what to do to make sure the change occurs.
“God gave Peter energy and wisdom and strength. He is not like his opponents. This fight is your fight and the glory will be to God and the youths,” said Umeh.
Anambra North Senatoral candidate, Dr. Tony Nwoye, encouraged youths to keep the fire burning and the flag flying, stating that victory is sure.
Anambra State Youth leader, Hon. Ekene Nnadi, in his address said “just like Moses and Joshua, God has sent Mr. Peter Obi and other Labour candidates to collectively join hands and take back Nigeria.
“We must make use of this divine opportunity and make the vision a reality.
“We the youths will carry out sensitization across the wards and markets in Anambra state on how to locate the logo and how to handle ballot papers.
“We intend to give out customized jackets to all commercial drivers and also educate our people on the need to vote for all Labour Party candidates to avoid incidents of opposition in the National Assembly, which will limit or slow down implementation of policies.
“We will also sensitize our people to vote for the State House of Assembly candidates in order to enjoy the party’s policy of robust and people-driven legislation and to secure at list 95 per cent of votes. 
“We need a vehicle for local government tour as mobilization and some logistics for sensitization.
“We the youths are ready to play our own parts,” Nnadi assured.
The Youth Summit and local government sensitization had the Labour Party senatorial candidates, House of Representatives and Assembly’s candidates, women leaders, and other stakholders in attendance.
The hight point of the event was presentation of awards to the Party’s  stakeholders.
