The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that his party assumes power in Lagos State, South-west Nigeria, by 2023.

Atiku stated this on Tuesday at a rally organized by one hundred volunteer groups in Ikeja, the Lagos state capital.

He emphasized that the party can only achieve this objective if its members are united, urging them to set aside their differences and work toward the common goal of winning the 2023 General Elections.

The support organizations include, among others, Grassroots Ambassadors, Arewa for Atiku, Atiku Progressives Forum, Atiku Unifying Projects, Face of Waziri, South-West Youths Vanguard, Concerned Youths Initiatives for Atiku and Omolere for Atiku.

Leaders, including the party’s candidate for governor in the state, Dr. Abdulazeez Olajide Adediran aka Jandor; the Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Committee in Lagos, Engr. Deji Doherty; the Lagos PDP Chairman, Philip Aivoji; and all other candidates of the party in the state, attended the rally.

Atiku, whose speech was delivered by the Governorship Candidate of the PDP in Lagos State, Jandor, urged party members to go out in large numbers to campaign for the party.

He argued that the upcoming presidential election on February 25, 2023, as well as the National Assembly election, should be taken very seriously.

“Once the party wins those elections, the governorship and House of Assembly elections which come up on March 11, 2023, would be made much easier.

“In 2023, we would do everything to win Lagos.

“…You are competing neck-to-neck in Lagos despite the fact that we have in the state the ruling party, and its presidential candidate is also from here,” he added.

Engr. Jide Adeniji, former Chairman of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), expressed his excitement at the event and urged all the support groups to collaborate and work together to go forward, assuring that “we shall win the 2023 General Elections together.”

The party leader stated that it was time to end what he termed stagnation in Lagos State under the APC’s 29-year control since the beginning of the current democratic rule.

“I want to assure you that Jardor would form the next government in Lagos in 2023,” he added.

Hon. Oladimeji Fabiyi, a member of the Presidential Campaign of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stated that Alhaji Atiku, the party’s presidential nominee, was motivated to save the country and was an experienced individual.

“Atiku Abubakar is coming to rescue Nigeria, recover Nigeria, secure the country from insecurity, and recover the exchange rate, among others.

“Atiku has done it before. He is going to recover Lagos. He is a unifier,” he claimed.

Fabiyi hailed Lagos State as unique and winnable in the upcoming election, encouraging party members and supporters not to allow anyone to frighten them but to vote PDP all the way through.

Chief Nurudeen Olokowo, Chairman of the volunteer groups, stated that Nigerians awaited the Atiku rescue agenda so that their lives would have significance.

Olokowo stated that the gathering’s overwhelming support demonstrated that “our products are sellable, healthy, and pragmatic.”

“Our product is capable of solving the numerous challenges facing our dear nation, hence the outing of today,” he explained.

Olokowo referred to Atiku’s support organizations as his strength and urged him to collaborate with them to win the upcoming general elections in the country.
