A former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ms Dorothy Nuhu Aken’Ova, has endorsed the candidature of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) presidential candidate in the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria.
Ms Aken’Ova gave the endorsement during a press briefing, adding that she has brought in other groups to form the All-inclusive Movement for Ahmed Tinubu (AMAT).
Ms Aken’Ova was the only female and presidential contestant on the SDP platform before defecting to the APC, stepping aside for Prince Adebayo Adewale, the SDP’s present presidential flagbearer, as the party had zoned the presidency to the South-west.
‘When Tinubu is elected as Executive President of Nigeria, Nigeria will be where young people have hope and an enabling environment for the full realization of their dreams.
‘The young people would enjoy uninterrupted school calendar, job opportunities, career growth and development where they are equipped to compete and serve the country and the world at large shoulder-to-shoulder with their peers across the globe.
‘My support for the candidature of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, was purely for the good track records of growth and development when they were governors,’ she said.
The Niger state indigene, who is popularly called “Jewel of the Niger” in political circles, stressed that the group wants a Nigeria where communities are safe.
‘People want a Nigeria where all can travel by road in between cities, forests and all places without fear of falling into the hands of insurgents, amongst others; where youths can carry their backpacks, party till dawn without fear of raids or being labelled as yahoo-yahoo boys.
‘I want a new Nigeria where mob violence becomes a thing of the past; where environmental protection is cherished and there is a level playing ground for even growth and development.
‘We are holding this press briefing because we have found someone who sees what we see and feels how we feel. This is evidenced by the way he reacted to the cash crunch we are experiencing,’ she noted.
Mrs Cesnabmihilo Dorothy Nuhu-Aken’ova and her support group called on voters to endorse and vote Bola Ahmed Tinubu in as the incoming President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during the elections on Saturday, February 25.
