Equities market close weekly trading with 0.04% gain

Transactions on the equities market ended in gains on Friday as the benchmark index appreciates further by 0.04% to close at 49,682.15 points as against 49661.87 on Thursday.

 

Similarly, the market capitalisation rose by N11billion to close the day at N26,796 trillion compared with N26,785 trillion at the close of trading the previous day.

 

Investors traded 193.51 million shares worth N4.64 billion in 3,307 deals on Friday.

 

The market sentiment also closed positive as market closed with 17 gainers relative to 15 losers.

 

Japaul Gold and Ventures led the gainers list with a gain of 9.68% to close at N0.34k, followed by Mutual Benefits Assurance with 7.14% gain and a closing price of N0.30k and FCMB Group gained 5.96% to close at N3.20k.

 

On the other hand, Ellah Lakes lost 10% to close at N3.60 and was followed by Vitafoam Nigeria with 9.78% loss and a closing price of N20.30k then NPF Microfinance Bank lost 9.09% to close at N1.50k.

 

Jaiz Bank recorded the highest volume of 45.9 million traded shares and was followed by FBN Holdings with 24.9 million shares.
