Hall of Fame heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield, who has been retired since 2011, will return to the ring on June 5th in an eight-round exhibition fight against Kevin McBride.

Holyfield, 58, who has been out of the sport since a TKO win over Brian Nielson in 2011, was interested in a fight with Tyson. However, the two sides failed to come to an agreement.

Tyson and Holyfield met twice during their memorable careers, with their 1997 second fight ending in disqualification after Tyson bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear.

Tyson has said he not only wants to fight Holyfield but also Lennox Lewis and Tyson Fury in exhibitions. In the meantime, Holyfield will get back in the ring against McBride.

Holyfield owns a professional record of 44-10-2. The 47-year-old McBride, who originally ended Tyson’s career in a 2005 fight and had a 35-10-1 record with 29 KOs in his career, has been retired since 2011.

The match is scheduled for eight, two-minute rounds without any headgear. It will be held in Miami, USA.
