Ex-Enyimba star Obioma crowned best NPFL player

Former Enyimba of Aba striker Emeka Obioma has been named the NPFL Player of the Season by Nigerian League Bloggers.

Obioma scooped this win at the Nigerian League Bloggers Awards held at Oriental Hotel, Lagos.

The striker scored 16 goals in the league – thereby clinching the Golden Boot award.

He has since left the Aba Millionaires.

Also, Remo Stars player Kayode has been voted as the best goalkeeper for the 2023 Nigerian Professional Football league (NPFL) Season that just ended.

He helped Remo Stars to finish runners-up at the Super Six Play-offs last month – clinching a spot in this season’s CAF Champions League. Kayode also kept 27 clean sheets to emerge one of Africa’s top goal keepers.

In his reaction to the win, Kayode tweeted: “Only God!”

Similarly, Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars was named Coach of the Season. The young coach led his team to a surprise fourth-place finish in the league.
