She explained that “in the past, children usually play football and practice other outdoor games on various streets, but presently, parents usually keep their children indoors and this singular act is not good for the health of children”.

Eseigbe encouraged parents to allow their children to participate in sports because of the various health benefits.

“Your mental stage will improve when you move your body and brain during exercise,” Eseigbe said.

In the same vein, the chairman of the Parents/Teachers Association (PTA), Ayodeji Dada, emphasised the essence of the Inter-House Sports.

“The Inter-House Sports has made the children to be exposed socially in other to interact with students from other schools,” Dada said. “The goal of the school is to build a total man.”

“We have people who are socially, educationally, physically and fully sound. Today, the children have showcased all they have learned and how they can apply it as in the physical reality.”

Dada also highlighted some challenges in the sports industry in Nigeria and advised the federal government on how to boost the sports sector.

“We have lots of challenges globally, locally and nationally. The Federal, States and Local governments should fund the sports industry because it brings unity and reduce corruption in the society,” he added.
