The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai ahead of the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025APCS), scheduled to hold this week.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike departed Abuja on Sunday and arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at about 4 a.m. on Monday.

He was received at the airport by Nigeria’s Consul General in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) who had arrived earlier.

Members of the Minister’s delegation include the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Richard Yunana Dauda; Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Benedict Daudu; Director, Department of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima; Director, Engineering Services, Chuks Udeh; and Director of Protocol, Sani Musa Daura.

On Tuesday morning, Wike is expected to lead a discussion panel where he will field questions on the Federal Capital Territory and engage with mayors of other capital cities participating in the summit.

Organisers of the 2025APCS said the summit aims to deliver long-term value for cities and businesses seeking trade and investment opportunities across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and beyond.

The event, an initiative of the Brisbane City Council, Australia, is recognised as one of the most diverse gatherings of mayors, city leaders, business executives, and young professionals worldwide.
