The Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has reiterated its preparedness to ensure a smooth and successful 2026 Hajj operation.
The Director of the Board, Kadiri Edah, stated this when he received the new North Central Zonal Coordinator of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Zainab Mohammed, and her team during a courtesy visit to the Board’s headquarters in Abuja.
Edah noted that the Board had already put in place adequate mechanisms to guarantee the success of the forthcoming pilgrimage. He explained that new strategies were being developed to assist pilgrims in achieving the ultimate goal of performing an acceptable and rewarding Hajj in 2026.
While acknowledging that each year’s operation comes with unique challenges, the Director appealed for NAHCON’s continued support in addressing any issues that may arise during the exercise.
In her remarks, NAHCON’s North Central Zonal Coordinator, Zainab Mohammed, said the visit was to familiarise herself with the FCT Board and to seek collaboration in the effective discharge of her responsibilities in the zone.
She called for the cooperation of the FCT Board to ensure a hitch-free Hajj operation for the benefit of intending pilgrims from across the country. Zainab also reaffirmed NAHCON’s commitment to improving the quality and efficiency of Hajj operations in the coming years.
Discussions at the meeting covered key operational issues such as the registration of intending pilgrims, camping arrangements, and the airlifting of pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
